April showers will bring May…?

April even without showers brings spring cleaning….

The ‘puter desktop image is of an Oxford quad (taken by R. ten years ago).  Maybe that will inspire us? Can you tell how neat the Magdalen quad is? Click twice on the study pic posted below to make larger.

If we’re not inspired yet, try a traveller’s path post on an important book. Currently I’m listening to it courtesy of Librivox and its good volunteers.

Year of Important Books: The Wind in the Willows

april showers in woods

“The Mole came and crouched beside Ratty, and, looking out, saw the wood that had been so dreadful to him in quite a changed aspect. Holes, hollows, pools, pitfalls, and other black menaces to the wayfarer were vanishing fast, and a gleaming carpet of faery was springing up everywhere, that looked too delicate to be trodden upon by rough feet. A fine powder filled the air and caressed the cheek with a tingle in its touch, and the black boles of the trees showed up in a light that seemed to come from below.”

  1. Thanks for the shout out! I love the windows you have beside your desk…I only have one, on my right, and it looks into my backyard. Not nearly as nice as those trees of yours. I will admit that my desk looks quite a bit like yours, though…. 🙂
